Robin Mai

My name is Robin Mai. I was born in 1992 and have been fascinated by computers from the start.

Even in elementary school, I had to sit next to the only computer in the classroom. This interest grew stronger over time and never left me. I knew early on: my professional future and my passion lies in computer science.

This led me to Cologne for IT training. After graduating and working interesting jobs as a software and DevOps engineer – from food wholesale to edge cloud providers to sports car manufacturers – my path led me in 2019 to the next big goal: self-employment.

With the founding of Nepomuk Software in 2019, my view of software changed dramatically. The realization that an idea is worth less than its execution, and that the most important skill I had to teach myself as a self-employed software engineer wasn't the next framework but marketing and sales, has shaped me permanently.

To finance the development of our own products, the company was initially characterized by consulting, which was steadily replaced by growing revenue from the product business. Early on, we at Nepomuk Software engaged with artificial intelligence and its possibilities – and are therefore well positioned today to help companies with the practical implementation of AI.

Besides Nepomuk Software, I am active with Robin Mai Invest in supporting and advising founders, as well as early-seed investments for tech and AI startups in the European single market – always looking for interesting connections.
