My Three AI Market Surprises for 2026 – Part 2

My second AI prediction for 2026: Micro-SaaS will explode.
Not because the concept is new. But because the cost of building is fundamentally shifting.
An Example from My December
Scheduling has been annoying me for years. Booking links that actually work. Group polls that don't look like they're from 2005. No tool solved both properly.
So I built it myself over the holidays. The result: agendly.de – live, works, solves exactly my pain point.
Two years ago, this would have been a three-month project. With Cursor, Claude, and the right APIs? Days.
This Changes Everything
Suddenly, products for 500 users are worth building. Suddenly, solo founders can serve niches that are too small for VC-funded startups. Suddenly, it's not feature vs. feature anymore – it's "solves exactly my problem" vs. "kind of solves many problems."
The Irony
While everyone debates whether AI will kill SaaS, AI is making it easier than ever to build SaaS.
2026 will be the year when thousands of developers have the same thought: "The tool I want doesn't exist? Then I'll just build it."
What do you think – are you also building more yourself now that AI coding tools have gotten so good?
